Identity and the Arts Virtual Summer Program

In the upcoming summer of 2021, Chisom will be leading a group virtual art program. This program is specifically for young middle school-aged children (6-8th grade).
In this program, the participant will explore how identity is present in art while building upon and putting into practice fundamental art skills. From these group sessions, your child will explore various art techniques and styles used by prominent Black artists to convey identity. All skill levels are welcome, as Chisom will create an inclusive virtual environment for the group of students.
Each session will explore
The concept of racial and ethnic identity in art
The fundamentals and principles of art
How to properly use art mediums
And much more!
When: July 5th- July 28th (Every Monday & Wednesday for a total of 8 sessions)
Age Range: 6-8th grade
Registration Cost: $200
Payment Methods: Credit or Debit and processed through PayPal
All Materials will be provided and shipped
Instruction will be done entirely through Zoom. All students should have a webcam and audio on their devices, laptops are preferred. Zoom links will be sent to the parent or guardian via email prior to the start of the program.
